Privacy Policy

Last updated August 14, 2026

This policy describes what RNewal ("RNewal," "we," "us") collects when you use the RNewal app, why we collect it, and where it's stored. It applies to the RNewal mobile app and this website.

This is a plain-language description of how RNewal actually handles data today, written to be accurate rather than boilerplate. It is not a substitute for review by a lawyer before this policy is relied on for App Store, Play Store, or regulatory purposes.

Information we collect

Account information. To sync your data across devices, RNewal asks you to create an account with an email address and password, or to sign in with Apple or Google. If you use Apple or Google sign-in, we receive the name and email address they provide, and a stable account identifier — we never receive your Apple or Google password.

Credential and CE data you enter. This includes your licenses and certifications (name, issuing board, state, license number, issue and expiration dates), continuing education entries (title, provider, hours, category, completion date), work history (employer, position, unit, dates), and career documents (resume, diploma, reference letters).

Certificate and document files. Photos or PDFs you attach to a credential, CE entry, or career document are uploaded to our cloud storage provider so they're available across your devices, in addition to a local copy kept on your device.

App lock preference. Whether you've turned on Face ID / Touch ID / passcode app lock is stored only on your device. RNewal never receives your fingerprint, face data, or passcode — your phone's operating system checks that locally and only tells the app pass or fail.

How we use it

  • To show you your licenses, CE progress, and requirements, and to calculate what's still due.
  • To sync your data across the devices you're signed into.
  • To send renewal reminders and account-related notices (email verification, password reset).
  • To keep your account secure and diagnose problems when something breaks.

We do not use your data for advertising, and RNewal does not include third-party analytics or ad-tracking SDKs.

Where your data is stored

Once you create an account, your credential, CE, work history, and career-document records are stored on RNewal's servers, scoped to your account, so they can sync across your devices. Attached files (certificate photos and PDFs) are stored with our cloud storage provider. A copy of your data is also kept locally on each device you use the app on, so the app keeps working without a connection.

Third parties we rely on

  • Apple and Google — if you choose to sign in with either, for authentication.
  • Our email provider — to send account verification, password reset, and renewal-reminder emails.
  • Our cloud hosting and storage providers — to run our servers and store attached certificate files.
  • License verification sites — the Verify a License section opens third-party sites such as Nursys QuickConfirm or a state board's own portal inside the app. Those organizations are not part of RNewal, and their own privacy policies govern what happens on their sites.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell your data.
  • We don't submit your CE hours to any state board on your behalf — that stays a manual, deliberate action you take yourself, outside the app.
  • We don't share your credential or CE data with employers, recruiters, or anyone else unless you're the one directing it out of the app (for example, by exporting or sharing a document yourself).

Data retention and deletion

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and the data associated with it at any time by contacting us — see Support. Deleting your account removes your stored credential, CE, work history, and document data from our servers; a copy that remains on a device you haven't signed out of may persist locally until you clear the app's data on that device.

Security

Passwords are never stored in plain text — only a salted hash. Sign-in sessions use rotating tokens, so a leaked token can be detected and revoked rather than reused indefinitely. Data sent between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit.

Children's privacy

RNewal is intended for licensed nursing professionals and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted in the app.
